For high schools (Gymnasium) offering the bilingual Swiss baccalaureate (Matura) with one national and one other language, exchange programmes and school partnerships offer an alternative to immersion teaching. Together with the CSGD Conference of Swiss High School Principals,  the ch Foundation invites you to attend this conference, entitled "Language-learning placements and exchange programmes as part of the bilingual baccalaureate" (Sprachaufenthalt und Austausch als Bestandteil der zweisprachigen Maturität). It will offer practical examples and experience of the challenges that arise, and how to deal with them.

The ch Foundation and Canton Bern, in collaboration with the Académie de Besançon, are organising a Comenius seminar to promote multilateral exchange partnerships between schools in France and Switzerland. At the seminar, twelve teachers from the Académie de Besançon will work with twelve Swiss teachers to prepare projects under the European Comenius lifelong learning programme.

The congress provides an in-depth insight into the diversity of the field of exchanges, for schools as well as in the sphere of vocational education. Workshop leaders with a wealth of exchange experience will talk about their own experiences and illustrate the opportunities offered by, and the limitations of, exchanges. Alongside the professional training element, there will be plenty of opportunity to share experiences. An info market provides a forum for making valuable contacts and offers.
